STEP OUT IN COURAGE

18 JUN 2025

“So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”Deuteronomy 31:6 (NLT)

We often think courage means being fearless—but true, godly courage is moving forward even when fear is present. Courage is not a feeling; it’s a choice to trust God more than your circumstances, more than your doubts, and more than your comfort zone.

Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly tells His people, “Do not be afraid”—not because there is nothing scary in life, but because He is with us.

Whether you’re being called to speak up, step out, start something new, or simply persevere through a difficult season, you are not alone. God never sends you where He hasn’t already gone ahead of you. His presence is your guarantee, and His strength is your supply.

Fear whispers, “You can’t.”

Faith declares, “God can.”

You don’t need to feel brave to be brave. Courage is simply obeying God’s voice louder than the voice of fear. Sometimes the boldest thing you can do is take the next small step in obedience.

Reflection Questions:

  • What step of faith is God asking me to take right now?
  • What fears are holding me back—fear of failure, rejection, loss, discomfort, or not being enough?
  • Where have I seen God’s faithfulness before, and how can I draw strength from that memory?

Scripture Meditation: Joshua 1:9, 2 Timothy 1:7, Psalm 56:3

Prayer: Father, I confess that fear sometimes tries to lead my decisions. But I choose to trust in You. Remind me that You go before me, and nothing takes You by surprise. When I feel weak, be my strength. When I hesitate, nudge me forward. When I doubt, reassure me of Your presence. Help me step out in faith, even when I don’t feel ready—because You are always more than enough. Amen. What burdens could lift? What freedom might follow if I simply trusted that God is with me and went forward anyway?
